Woah! Been a bit since I’ve posted, sorry. I started, um, reading the Twilight Saga (guilty pleasure, I know, I know) and I haven’t done anything but read for the the last few weeks. I’m back in biz now… this is a photo (does not do it justice) of the Naniboujou Lodge in Grand Marais, MN. There is a lot of history behind this place, not to mention the beautiful colors! I know, it’s the picture you’ve all been waiting for….my commuter cycling debut photo. Watch out Minneapolis, I’m on wheels and I’m on a mission. 50 miles a week is my goal for now! Think I can do it?
John and I were literally stopped at a traffic light a couple of days before Cinco de Mayo and this is what crossed in front of us. It had to have been some type of Cinco de Mayo celebration happening. I mean, the tree lady with tiny heads and the people on stilts? I am not quite sure how that relates to a Mexican holiday…but either way it was quite a scene.
Click on the photo to take a listen to Maps & Atlases. I saw these guys the other night at First Ave open for Cloud Cult and was pleasantly surprised (sans tall guy’s head…sorry shitty photo). This Chicago based group was able to get a relatively lazy crowd moving. Overall, smart and progressive music that might be good for day drinking, if you ask me. Check it out.
